Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

• Airport pickup and transfer to hotel

• Short city tour:

  • Chinggis Square & Monument

  • Gandan Monastery

  • Zaisan Hill for panoramic views

• Traditional Mongolian folklore concert

• Welcome dinner and overnight at hotel

Day 2: Fly to Ulaangom (Uvs Province)

• Domestic flight to Ulaangom

• Sightseeing in Ulaangom town

• Overnight at local hotel

Day 3: Kharkhiraa Mountain

• Travel to snow-capped Kharkhiraa Mountain (4038m) of the Mongol Altai range

• Stunning alpine scenery and hiking opportunities

• Overnight tent camping

Day 4: Achit Lake

• Drive to Achit Lake (1464m), the largest freshwater lake in the Altai region

• Visit nomadic Kazakh and Mongol families living near the lake

• Overnight tent camping on the lakeshore

Day 5: Ulgii Town (Bayan-Ulgii Province)

• Drive to Ulgii, the Kazakh capital of Mongolia

• Visit local Muslim cemetery, ethnographic museum, and central bazaar

• Overnight at tourist GER camp

Day 6: Drive to Tavan Bogd National Park

• Scenic drive to park entrance, followed by hike toward Tavan Bogd base

• Marvel at Mongolia’s tallest peaks and glaciers (above 4000m)

• Overnight tent camping in the national park

Day 7: Trekking in Tavan Bogd

• Full day trekking among the mountains, glaciers, and pristine wilderness

• Explore Potanin Glacier and surrounding alpine terrain

• Overnight tent camping

Day 8: Return to Ulgii

• Drive back to Ulgii

• Visit local Kazakh family and learn about eagle hunting traditions

• Overnight in local hotel

Day 9: Tolbo Lake

• Drive to the large saltwater Tolbo Lake (2080m elevation, 185 sq km)

• Optional swimming, hiking or relaxing by the water

• Overnight tent camping

Day 10: Khar Us Lake

• Drive to Khar Us Lake, a major freshwater bird sanctuary

• Observe waterfowl and enjoy the peaceful lakeside environment

• Continue to nearby GER camp for overnight stay

Day 11: Khovd Town

• Drive to Khovd, a culturally diverse town

• Visit local museum and enjoy light sightseeing

• Overnight at tourist GER camp

Day 12: Return to Ulaanbaatar

• Flight from Khovd to Ulaanbaatar

• Free time to relax or explore the city

• Overnight at hotel

Day 13: Terelj National Park

• Drive to Terelj National Park

• Visit Turtle Rock, Aryabal Meditation Temple, and Shamanic Ovoo

• Lunch at GER camp and short mountain hike

• Overnight at traditional Mongolian GER

Day 14: Return to Ulaanbaatar

• Optional short horse riding session in the morning

• Return to Ulaanbaatar

• Visit souvenir and cashmere shops

• Farewell dinner and overnight at hotel

Day 15: Departure

• Hotel check-out

• Transfer to airport for international departure
